The vocational apprenticeship

Vocational training is a very popular educational path in Switzerland. Approximately two thirds of young people in Switzerland complete basic vocational training after compulsory schooling. The apprenticeship can be completed either in a company or full-time at a school.

Training in the so-called dual system takes place at two learning locations, at the learning company and at the vocational school, and is therefore characterised by learning processes that span several learning locations (dual learning). This type of vocational training enables young people to enter the world of work in a way that promises success and lays the foundation for countless further and advanced training opportunities.
