Whether or not children and adolescents can benefit from supplementary school support and out-of-school learning support should not be a question of money. And yet in Switzerland, extra-curricular and supplementary schooling must be paid for in full by the parents themselves; the federal government, cantons and municipalities do not provide any subsidies. Many families can therefore not afford to support their children. This leads to injustice in access to education and obstructs the chance of success for children and young people.

The fit4school Education Fund Foundation supports low-income families flexibly, quickly and unbureaucratically on application by covering the difference between the respective financial possibilities and the actual costs incurred for supplementary support, extracurricular learning support and coaching.

The fit4school foundation is a Swiss foundation and is committed to the success of its students. It was founded by Lukas Alt, a pedagogue from Basel, to develop age- and demand-oriented strategies, methods and the latest techniques for individual, supplementary schooling and extracurricular learning support and to support young people in their successful transition to vocational training. The foundation focuses on Swiss primary, secondary and vocational schools.

The aim of the foundation is to make the strategies, methods and techniques available to pupils throughout Switzerland. To this end, it has developed the concept of the fit4school learning and coaching centres. The learning and coaching centres are open to children and young people at locations throughout Switzerland. These are independent educational operating companies that are oriented towards the will of the foundation. With their financial contributions, the educational operating companies support the foundation in the ongoing development of techniques, strategies and methods in supplementary school support and extracurricular learning support and in adapting them to today's rapidly changing requirements.

fit4school teaches children and adolescents strategies, methods and techniques with which they can face school and social pressure in a more relaxed way, can focus and be less distracted, with which they learn to shape their school day in a self-responsible and balanced way. The foundation is committed to ensuring that children and young people can actually use their potential, their curiosity and fascination, their joy and enthusiasm for learning and knowledge. It therefore specifically promotes intrinsic motivation to learn and thus makes a valuable contribution: It makes children and young people fit for lifelong learning. Success at school. The fit4school education fund thus directly serves equal opportunities. The social background of the pupils or their social background must not decide whether or not children and young people can make use of the services of the fit4school foundation.
